7 ways to get your garden guest-ready before 29th March
Here at Muddy Trowel we are super excited for 29th March: the day when 2 families or 6 people can meet outdoors. We cannot wait to finally invite our friends and family into our gardens again. To see our loved ones in person (not via a screen) is long overdue and much anticipated. Coupled with longer, brighter days ahead, we wanted to draw together our top 7 recommendations for getting your garden guest-ready for this exciting time!
1. General garden tidy up
If your plants are not looking their best after the long winter, you can cut them back (this will aid growth in the sunnier weather) or get rid of any diseased or black leaves. Weeding is easier now before they take over and run rampant. A lick of paint on fencing or the shed can also instantly brighten the whole garden. Sweeping or jet washing decking, patios, front doors and balconies will make your outdoor spaces feel loved and cared for.
Perfect for entertaining, Ooni Pizza Ovens get to 500 degree heat in 15 minutes and cook a 15 inch pizza in 60 seconds. They are portable and you can buy additional carry cases for them. They are a perfect alternative (or addition) to a BBQ lunch.
3. Pimms
It is never too early for Pimms, especially in 2021. This would be a great addition to fuel you on your garden transformation journey. You could even garnish it with some herbs from our The Pot & Kettle collection, to give it a little extra something.
4. Fire Pit
Although the sun is coming out, it still can be a little colder in the evenings, therefore a fire pit is the perfect way to keep toasty. Companies such as Made.com have some really exciting fire pits on offer.
5. Solar garden lights
Create a party mood in a more planet-friendly way with some solar-panelled garden lights, which can create atmosphere throughout the year. We love the festoon variety!
6. Colourful long-lasting outdoor plants
The season is just starting with bulbs and long-lasting perennials available that will look amazing into the spring and summer months. We have some perfect outdoor plant collections at Muddy Trowel to help you create instant impact in your outdoor spaces. Place pots filled with beautiful plants around your front doors, benches, patios and balconies for a wonderful eye catching display that your guests can marvel at.
7. English Sparkling Wine
We already mentioned Pimms, but it would be remiss of us not to mention some delicious English Sparkling Wine – perfect for celebrating the long Easter weekend. Sit with a glass in hand to marvel at all your hard work. We recommend small English producers like Black Chalk.
